A STAYCATION AT GRAND HYATT
Tsutsumi and I are constantly on the look-out for the best staycations in every country we visit. We are always living in a suitcase on the search to discover what a destination has to offer. However, nothing beats feeling at home even when you’re not. After falling in love with Park Hyatt Tokyo and Andaz Tokyo we couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with Grand Hyatt on our first visit to Taipei. The many concepts of the hotel chain never fails to deliver an amazing experience for their guests. Grand Hyatt Taipei was so memorable and extra-ordinary that we hope you like our reasons to why Grand Hyatt Taipei was one for the books.
The Lobby. City’s first 5-star hotel greets you with a mix of contemporary and oriental design elements giving you the best of what Asia has to offer in design. The interior is a great mix of Western and Asian elements giving it a modern yet subtle look.
The suite. Once you enter the room you are met with a dream of a suite, gorgeous marble bathroom, delicate bathtub and views of Taipei 101. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. What a beautiful hotel. Everything was perfect beyond words and now I know exactly how I want my future apartment to look like.
The Bathroom. Marble ceilings, an oval bathtube, rain showers and lots of natural sunlight. It was a dream to do our beauty routine by the modern sink and has really sparked our interest for modern interior.
The location. IS PERFECT! We lived in the heart of the city and was just a 2 minute walk from Taipei 101, the city centre and night life. Super convenient! Taipei 101 is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. It’s the world’s fifth tallest building and showcase a stunning view of taipei. Even the mandatory visit to the Tong Hua night market for delicious street food is within walking distance.
The dining. Xiao long bao, fresh sushi, dim sum et cetera et cetera.. do we need to say more? Yun Jin is a Chinese restaurant is so popular its almost impossible to make a reservation. Dressed in formal attire we unglamorously ordered everything that would resemble the “Taste of China” Dinner and breakfast at The Cafe has a modern dining space with lots of natural lightning. With an open kitchen and so many good dishes we literally ate like there was no tomorrow. You have a buffet filled with all kinds of fine cuisine all over the world – how can you resist yourself from overeating?
The Summer Pool Party. Lucky for us, we arrived just in time for Grand Hyatt’s summer pool party. It was a pretty bizarre experience because everyone looked like normal people having a good time while in fact we were surrounded by celebrities, artists and filthy rich-kids of China. It was quite the experience lounging by the pool while enjoying the sunset. Truly enjoyed life that evening!
