Say Yes To You And Let The Transformation Begin
Tsutsumi Hoang is Candid That’s co-founder and content creator. She is also one of the faces of Colorista and part of the L’Oréal family. With only a week left until she moves to the other side of the world, I decided to honor my partner and best-friend by asking her how her experience at Colorista was.
Growing up, Tsutsumi was an introverted girl that was very cautious of every step she took. She was insecure and her greatest critic. After launching the blog and use it as an outlet for her creativity, she decided to make a change by saying yes more often. Fast forward three years later Tsutsumi was approached by L’Oréal and asked to be part of a influencer driven world-wide campaign on a new innovative haircolor range.
YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE AND EVERYTHING TO GAIN
If you want to open up new doors and have a brighter outlook on life here are Tsutsumi’s three tips:
- Saying yes more often gets you out of your comfort zone. It is the best thing to do. I have always been so nervous and anxious about leaving a bad impression on my performance in a campaign shoot. It is a struggle every time, but by pushing myself I have progressed so much and gained more confidence in myself.
- It is harder than it sounds, but even small progress will create opportunities. During the Colorista shoot in Paris, there were international influencers flown in. I remember seeing a wooden table with extensions in all colors of the rainbow spread out. Stylists were walking around asking each influencer if they “would like this or this shade”. When the stylist came to me I can still recall that all the colors was not a good fit. But, optimistic to participate I said yes to any color they offered. Later that year, Colorista launched and I was so excited to see the final result. To my surprise, I saw my face on not one, not two, but three different packages; Mint, Tangerine and Ombré.
- When you are first starting out in your career; saying yes to every opportunity that comes your way will simply make you stand out. You never know what lies in being a yes person until you try. I said yes when everyone else was sceptic to a specific color. It resulted in me being the influencer of three packages. A dream come true!
LUCK IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PREPARATION MEETS OPPORTUNITY
Our mom have always told us that life is fifty percent luck and fifty percent opportunity. Tsutsumi was an ordinary girl from Norway and just happened to be offered an opportunity at the right time. This might be yet another campaign, but Colorista is an adventure and we are so grateful to participate in this innovative project.
“Life is unpredictable. I say yes even when I am anxious. But by saying yes, you are one possibility closer to your goal.”
I can & I did,
