⌱ CONCRETE JUNGLE ⌱
Earlier this week, Candid That visited Concrete Jungle – a newly opened café just across the street from where we live in Chippendale. It is located in trendy Spicy Alley and is in its own minimalistic corner away from the food courts. When you enter the café, you are met with high windows that makes the café spacious with natural light streaming in. The space is made out of concrete against black industrial elements broken up by plants hanging from the ceiling. The owner, Moe Mrad have also several famous posters on the walls along with pieces from local artists.
Concrete Jungle is the perfect place for brunch. The dishes are a splash of colour and is an art piece created by chef Bryan O’Callaghan and his team. The Blue Majik Smoothie Bowl is a dream and our absolute favourite dish. The bowl taste even better than it looks and every time you order – the dish has a new beautiful topping with edible flowers.
I JUST DON’T WANT TO LOOK BACK THINKING “I COULD’VE EATEN THAT”
Their bowls are pretty huge, so you get a lot of food for the buck. As always, we ordered for the ‘gram so we got to taste a variety of dishes. Apart from the heavenly Blue Majik, you have to order the Tuna Tartar and Nourish Bowl. Nourish Bowl is a vegan dish with ingredients such as avocado, quinoa mix, beetroot hummus and sesame dressing. Who would guess a vegan dish could be so tastefully healthy?
Whenever we walk past the area, Concrete Jungle is one of the most popular cafes. It is so good to see how well they do creating fresh sustainable food. We look forward to the next visit xx
