VIDEO: HOW TO GET THAT NATURAL DEWY LOOK IN 1-2-3

In collaboration with Bobbi Brown

OUT WITH THE MATTE, IN WITH THE DEWY

One of the biggest trends this season is to keep it all about the skin. Long gone are the days when it was all about keeping the lipstick matte, adding translucent powder on top of your makeup look and raiding retailers for everything mattifying. These days, it’s all about hydrating your skin through a nine step skincare regime, integrating face oils into your makeup routine and all things that shimmer. It is a skin trend that originated from Korea and the focus is on hydrating and getting that subtle glow. The dewy skin trend is all about looking like you just came out of a work-out routine or spent a day at the beach underneath the sun. The Candid team has seen it everywhere from backstage during fashion weeks, on your favorite Instagram influencers and of course on the daily. It is so refreshing to keep up with a trend that is no longer cakey, but rather shiny wet-looking skin. Candid approves!

TSU-COLLAGE-STEP-BY-STEP

Together with Bobbi Brown, we have created this simple glow look in a long awaited video tutorial. It’s quick, it’s easy and gives the most natural results. With a variety of products in hand I, Tsutsumi, show you an easy step-by-step tutorial on how to get that dewy look. It is pretty similar to how I usually do my makeup with only a few color changes.

GLOW

I have tested Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick these last few months. The palette is amazing and has a variety of apricot and coral tones. I have it in the shade Nectar that fits perfectly with my skin tone. I use a blender brush to apply the shimmer, but go over with my fingers if I want to add more details. The Candid fam will definitely see more of this product from now!

BONJOUR, MONSIEUR.

bored-to-death

I don’t usually wear bold colours, but it happens every now and then. When I’m in the mood to spice up my attire, I tend to steer towards the colour red. To compliment the look I always style it with some trusty silver jewellery. Personally, I try to avoid wearing golden pieces when rocking a red look, just because these two dominant colours look like a battle of attention paired together. Silver on the other hand, is a great fit. The metallic piece gives a certain sophistication to the look but not to the point where it’s trying to outshine the red shade. All in all, I like to think of it as a power couple in the jewellery world.

A great tip is to keep your jewellery unobtrusive and clean so that it add a glimpse of attraction without drawing too much attention from the red.

LET YOUR SPARKLE OUT

AH-BON-FINALE JEW-2

Have you ever been told to never mix silver and golden jewellery together? Well, this rule is outdated. When it comes to jewellery, Candid That believes that there are no rules. Mix and match just how you like, why follow the rules when you can be creative and make it part of your own style? One of the great things about fashion is that you can choose to be the next trendsetter. Instead of waiting around for the next glossy magazine telling you what’s hot or not this season – you can be on top of the game and experiment it firsthand. Accessories has become such an essential part of every outfit and a simple piece of jewellery can instantly turn a look up side down.

JEW-COLL-6

A great tip from Candid That is to style your metals in a way so that it looks like it belongs together.

ONE HELL OF A SILVER LIGHTNING

JEW-INFO-2Here is a little silver inspiration to add to your look this season.

My love affair with jewellery has lasted for almost a decade, and I can often be spotted with a dainty silver necklace or hoop earrings at all times. Silver jewellery’s are definitely no stranger to me. With silver you’ll get two styling options. There’s nothing in between. If you’re a minimalistic person, keep it clean and simple with two to three pieces. If you want to spark it up a couple notches, layer the hell out of the silver pieces. In the first part of my jewellery lookbook series, you’ll get a glimpse of some of my current favourite silver sparks.

YSL STEP BY STEP: GLOW WITH TOUCHE ÉCLAT

Learn how to master the natural radiant look in this Step by Step tutorial. Below are 6 simple steps on how to achieve luminous skin with some of our makeup favourites from YSL Beauty.

STEP 1 – Touche Éclat Cushion Foundation:

The coverage of the cushion is lightweight in consistency, giving you a fresh dewy glow in just seconds. It is also buildable, but we think one layer cover up just enough dullness and at the same time let your freckles and beauty marks shine through.

YSL COLL 6

The cushion comes with a dual flocked sponge. The fluffy side of the applicator is used to swipe the formula on your face. Turn it around to the firm side and press the product in a tap-tap motion to sculpt your face.

STEP 2 – Touche Éclat Star Collector (Limited Edition):

This little guy is perfect for on-the-go, last minute touch-ups, and travelling. Let’s draw a realistic scenario: You just got off work, but have a date or a party to attend right after. Pop the Touche Éclat highlighter underneath your eyes or on areas where you need some extra brightness; and you’ll transform into an effortless goddess in no time.

YSL COLL 5YSL COLL 1

Draw small vertical lines underneath your eyes, down the bridge of your nose, inner corner of the eyes, on your cheekbones and chin. After that, blend it out with your finger for a luminous finish.

STEP 3 – Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick:

I cannot get enough of multi-functional beauty products. This Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick double-serves as a lip balm and a creamy highlighter. I like to apply it on areas where I want more definition, such as my nose tip and above my cupid’s bow for fuller-looking lips.

YSL COLL 2

After highlighter, apply the Shine Oil-In-Stick on the high points of your face for some extra radiance. A girl can never have too much glow!

STEP 5 – Blush Volupté, I Have a Blush On You (Limited Edition):

To add warmth to the face I like to play around with the Blush Volupté palette in the shade peach. This is by far our favourite product from their entire line. It is one of the go-to products that we have been using for over three years. Highly recommended!

YSL COLL 3

Sweep your brush through the powder and apply it to your cheeks in a circular motion.

STEP 6 – Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick:

To colour everything in, I used the Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick in the shade 28, which has been our favourite lipstick this month. It is smooth, creamy, and easy to apply on.

mwuah!

FINALE LOOK:

Voila! A luminous dewy look for any occasion. I sparked it up with some mini stars on my cheeks for a night-out look.

I hope you liked the step by step tutorial and learned a thing or two. Kisses!
